As parents we know we lead by example, but of course it’s hard to be perfect.
Many of us loved playing sports when we were young, but that doesn’t always pass on.
The great lessons of self-advocacy and alert action can only be learned if the kids “buy-in”.
If their team unfortunately loses a few of it’s games (my kids teams went ranged from “undefeated” to “at least we won that one”) and they see you losing interest in their season it will make it tough for them to get what they can out of playing the sport and make it harder on the coaches.
It’s easier said than done, but we all have to believe that :
